For the Love of Chillies: Our Interactive Periodic Table of Scoville Units!

Lots of red chilli peppers piled on top of each other.

We love a good chilli here at Appliance City! Because of this, we’ve gone a little chilli crazy in the past. The good news is that this has lead to some hot content. For example, if you’d like to spice up your life, we recommend checking out our list of the best chilli recipes for National Chilli Day (celebrated on the fourth Thursday in February). Not spicy enough for you? You can learn more about peppers in our “The Good, The Bad, and The Spicy” infographic!

We’re always so excited to share our chilli related content, which includes one of our hottest editions to our collection…

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s our Interactive Periodic Table of Scoville Units:

This periodic table is part of Appliance City’s essential guide to chilli. Please, be our guest and take a click around the table. There are a few surprises in store, so keep your eyes peeled! If you decide to check out the table in it’s full glory, you’ll be treated to recipes, maps, blogs and more!

If you want to embed our table on your site, there’s no need to ask permission. Just go ahead and take this code:

We’d like to say a massive thank you to The Scoville Food Institute who kindly let us use their periodic table data in the making of our interactive table. They have also been on hand to answer our chilli-based questions.

We’d also like to thank the wonderful “Chilli Heads” who supplied us with quotes about their favourite chilli peppers:

We hope you enjoy playing with our Interactive Periodic Table of Scoville Units as much as we enjoyed making it! We’d love to know what you think, so feel free to share and comment!

P.S. It might not work on all mobile devices. It’s something we’ve done on purpose as we want you to have the best possible experience!
